BOB welcomes personal journal excerpts, travelogues, articles, reflections and rants on history, the arts, culture and life.
No matter who you are~ whether you’re a queer guy from a smaller town, a First Nations youth, a person of color, or a new immigrant, a transguy, a poz youth, a disabled youth, or dealing with addiction or violence or homelessness, or feeling like an outsider or an insider… we want to hear your voice. Be original. Be real.
Reviews & Interviews
BOB wants cool interviews of unique people doing interesting stuff. Also we’re always featuring reviews of movies, music, Internet sites, books, comics, etc. Dude, speak out! Your opinion counts.
While we cover contemporary topics, we especially welcome articles that feature a diversity of world cultures, folklore and mythology, historical figures and events.
We prefer text submissions to be 750-1500 words, but will consider all lengths. If you have a serial in mind (i.e. writing to be published in chapters over two or more issues), then contact us and we can arrange something. All text should be pasted directly into the body of your e-mail (i.e. do not include as an attachment).
If we use your work, we’ll request a short, accompanying biography. If you prefer to remain anonymous or to use a secret identity, that’s no problem.

PAYMENT
Starting with our Fall 2008 Issue, BOYOBOY is able to pay its contributors:
- If we use your original artwork or photography, we’ll pay you $20.00 per image.
- If we use your original writing (poem, story, review, etc.), we’ll pay you $20.00 or $.03 ( three cents) per word, whichever is greater (e.g. a 1200 word article would be paid $36.00).
- Additionally, all contributors will be shipped three free copies of the issue containing their work.
